Juxtaposition Project

My idea for this project is to place a stereotypical "beautiful" family moment/portrait in front of something that is not beautiful. The statement I am trying to make is about how people often ignore the issues of world around them, and instead choose to stay absorbed in picture-perfect moments.
The background would be painted/drawn and the family in the front would be a glossy magazine cut-out or a collage of a few different pictures.
Some ideas for the background:

• deforestation (rainforest being torn down)
• Oil spill
  
• Nuclear explosion
• Floods in Japan
• War in Iraq
• Dump
• Royal wedding (William and Kate) or any wedding on a beach, and in the background have the BP oil spill
